Statement | Press Forward
Press Forward congratulates the Canadian Journalism Collective on signing an agreement with Google to manage the proceeds from the Online News Act. The Collective put forward a proposal with a structure that involves representation from across the news industry, including representation for news innovators.
Press Forward is looking forward to seeing all eligible news businesses benefit from the CJC’s commitment to transparency, a representative governance structure, and the efficient distribution of funds. We look forward to supporting our members in engaging with the process.
Press Forward works to ensure people in Canada have strong independent and community-focused journalism. We unify, elevate and advocate for media organizations in Canada to strengthen innovation, inclusivity and diversity in media across the country.
